The Shymbulak ski resort, which attracts winter sports enthusiasts, and the Big Almaty Lake, an ideal place for summer recreation, have become the hallmark of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan's national parks are highly rated in world tourist guides. For example, Burabay, known as the "Switzerland of Kazakhstan", is among the top natural destinations in Central Asia according to National Geographic Traveler.
